About Panihati Assembly Constituency

Panihati is constituency No. 111 of West Bengal legislative assembly. It is situated in North 24 Parganas district and comes under Dum Dum Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Panihati has a total of 1,86,741 voters. It comprises 97,020 male and 89,721 female registered voters.

In the 2011 Assembly elections, the Trinamool Congress won this seat by a formidable margin of 31,432 votes. Nirmal Ghosh, the winning TMC candidate, got 88,334 votes. The runner-up was Ahibhusan (Dulal) Chakraborty of CPI(M) who got 56,902 votes. The voter turnout was 81.17%.
