About Banga Assembly Constituency

Banga is constituency No. 46 of Punjab legislative assembly.
It is situated in Nawan Shahr district and comes under Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Banga assembly constituency has 1,42,413 registered voters. It comprises 72,886 male and 69,527 female registered voters.

In the last Punjab assembly elections held in 2012, the Congress won this constituency by a narrow margin of 3,215 votes. Tarlochan Singh, the winning Congress candidate, got 42,023 votes. The runner-up was Mohan Singh of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) who got 38,808 votes. The voter turnout was 79.86 %.
