About Mahe Assembly Constituency

Mahe is constituency No. 29 of Puducherry legislative assembly. It is situated in Mahe district. It is an open constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, this constituency has 28,484 registered voters. It includes 12,549 male and 15,935 female registered voters.

In the 2011 Assembly elections, the Congress won this seat by a comfortable margin of 6,104 votes. E.Valsaraj, the winning Congress candidate, got 13,297 votes. The CPI(M) nominee T.K.Gangadharan, who got 7,193 votes, emerged the runner-up. The voter turnout was 77.18 %.
