    According to a survey conducted by Kautilya voter intelligence survey 2016, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would emerge as the single largest largest party in Goa if elections were held to the state legislative assembly today. The survey indicates that ruling party BJP is going increasingly out of favour though it can win back voters' confidence if Manohar Parrikar returns as the state's chief ministerial candidate.

  • AAP a Seasonal Crop Growing Like Mushrooms: Badal
    Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) member and Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal attacked the Aam Aadmi Party and likened it to a seasonal crop. He said that the party had grown up like burgeoning mushrooms and that it had no real concern for the people of Punjab. He was speaking at an occasion to mark the martyrdom day of Karnail Singh Issru at his village. He alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party's advocate had said in court that if all of Punjab's water remained with the state, it would lead to division of the country.

  • Advantage BJP, BSP: Cracks Within SP Come to the Fore
    With Assembly elections due in Uttar Pradesh in less than a year, cracks seem to have appeared within the Samajwadi Party's top leadership and political rivals BJP and BSP will spare no opportunity to capitalise on this situation. The rift within the Yadav clan came to the fore at an Independence Day function in Lucknow. According to reports, Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav attacked his son and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav for sidelining his uncle Shivpal Yadav and argued that his uncle was doing good work. The SP patriarch is reported to have told his son that Shivpal had threatened to resign and if he did, many in the party would follow him. Mulayam has threatened that he will expel eight party members unless his son 'mended his ways'.

  • AAP to Release Second List of Candidates for Punjab Assembly Polls This Week
    The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is slated to release its second list of candidates for Punjab Assembly elections this week. The second list is expected to cover about 15 constituencies of the state. Some of the constituencies covered are Ludhiana East, Patiala Rural, Amloh, Samrala, Dirba, Sunam, Ghanaur and Sanaur. The party’s Screening Committee had recommended five names per constituency. The candidates will be finalised later this week by the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) led by Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal.
