  • B S Yeddyurappa inches closer to the CM seat

    BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa has won the Shikaripura Assembly constituency seat. The veteran Lingayat leader is set to travel to Delhi in the afternoon to meet the senior leaders of the party and decide on the date for his coronation as the state's Chief Minister as BJP currently leads on 106 seats and inching closer towards the half-way mark of 112 seats.

The CM vacated his Varuna seat for his son Yathindra, from which he won in 2008 and 2013, but, this time around he moved to Chamundeshwari. Siddaramaiah faces a tough task of overcoming JD(S) candidate G T Devegowda, who currently leads from Chamundeshwari.
