Maharashtra Bandh Begins: Schools, Public Transport Affected
There is a bandh in Maharashtra today as the splinter organisation, Maratha Kranti Morcha, called for sit-in agitation over the demand of reservation. It began at 8 am and is expected to end at 6 pm. In Satara, public transport is affected. In Navi Mumbai, schools are shut for both morning and evening session. Many petrol pumps are closed, too.
The state police have assured that it would get on the board maximum personnel in order to maintain the law and order situation in the regions during the protests. Rahul to Address Indian Mass in Germany and Britain ahead of Lok Sabha Polls
In a move to reach out to Indians living abroad ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2019, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi might take a tour to Britain and Germany. As the sources indicate, the Gandhi scion might visit Germany around August 22 and Britain around August 24. Besides addressing the Indian mass there, he is also likely to have meetings with Indian industrialists there. This would mark his first visit to foreign lands after being made the Congress president.
