  • Telangana Assembly Dissolved by the State Governor

    After considering the recommendations from Telangana CM K Chandrasekhara Rao, the state governor ESL Narasimhan dissolved the Assembly yesterday. The decision has set the path for early Assembly polls in the state. However, the CM Rao has been asked to continue his duties until the new government is in place.


    Right after the announcement, Rao addressed the media and pointed out the achievements of the government and praised the cabinet for its tireless working. He added that the state government is also a recipient of international acclaim. He also commented on the new polls, stating that the new polls would take place in November and the results would be out in December this year.

  • Congress Announced Protest on Sep 10 against Fuel Price Hike

    Congress announced on Thursday that a nationwide protest will be organised on September 10 in the light of increasing prices of fuel. The party leaders have even urged the civil society groups and opposition parties to join in the shutdown. The announcement came at a press conference by the likes of Congress leaders such as Ashok Gehlot, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mallikarjun Kharge, Motilal Vora, and Ahmed Patel. They expressed sympathy towards the common man who has to deal with the escalation in prices of essential fuels like cooking gas, diesel, and petrol.


    Surjewala told the media, “The Congress party has decided that we will give a call for Bharat Bandh on September 10, Monday, in order to highlight the Rs 11 lakh crore fuel loot, to demand that there should be immediate reduction in central excise duty and excessive VAT in the states, and that petrol and diesel be brought within GST so that the common man whose budget has gone haywire, they are provided the requisite relief.”
