JD(S) Withdraws Its Own Candidate; Supports Congress for Jayanagar PollsThe JD(S) has stated in a press release that it would extend its support to Sowmya Reddy, the Congress candidate for the Jayanagar election in Karnataka. The elections in this part of the Karnataka were postponed because of the death of BJP candidate BN Vijaya Kumar. The party has withdrawn its own candidate kale Gowda and has decided to go on with supporting the Congress candidate. Karnataka Cabinet to Swear-in TodayThe two-member State Cabinet is all set to expand today. The H.D. Kumaraswamy headed cabinet would finally take its final concrete form today after several days of consultation. The oath ceremony is scheduled today at Raj Bhavan, timed at 2.12 p.m and will be administered by the Governor Vajubhai Vala. As per the agreement, Congress has been given 22 ministerial positions and JD(S) will have 12.
