Polling underway in final phase of elections for 22 seats in Manipur.

In phase 2 polling and a total of 3,81,381 male voters, 3,93,091 female voters will cast their vote deciding the fate of Manipur candidates from various political parties in 1151 polling stations. Source:

Party wise contesting candidates: INC 22, BJP 22, CPI 2, TMC 6, NCP 1, 12 recognised State political parties candidates, 24 registered unrecognised parties candidates, and 24 independent candidates will contest the second phase of the election.

The 98 candidates in the fray also include four women for the second phase of Manipur Polls.

According to Manipur Election Watch and the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) there are 29 crorepati candidates in the fray in the second and final phase of Manipur elections.

The second phase would see the keenly awaited contest of chief minister Okram Ibobi and rights activist Irom Sharmila in Thoubal assembly constituency.

The six districts in the phase two are Chandel, Imphal East, Senapati, Tamenglong, Thoubal and Ukhrul.

For the second phase 98 candidates from 13 poliical parties would contest the elections. The election would be held in 22 of the 60 constituencies in the state across six districts of this Northeastern state.
