About Muvattupuzha Assembly Constituency

Muvattupuzha is constituency No. 86 of Kerala legislative assembly. This unreserved assembly seat is situated in Ernakulam district. It comes under the Idukki Lok Sabha constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, the Muvattupuzha assembly seat has 1,54,440 registered voters. It comprises 78,173 male and 76,267 female registered voters.

In the 2011 Assembly elections, the Congress party won this seat by a slim margin of 5,163 votes. Joseph Vazhackkan, the winning Congress candidate, secured 58,012 votes. With 52,849 votes, CPI candidate Babu Paul emerged the runner-up. The voter turnout was 75.29 %.
