About Kalamassery Assembly Constituency

Kalamassery is constituency No. 77 of Kerala legislative assembly. It came into being in 2008 following delimitation. This open constituency is situated in Ernakulam district. It comes under Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, Kalamassery assembly seat comprises 1,65,107 registered voters. It includes 81,105 male and 84,002 female registered voters.

In the 2011 Assembly elections, the Muslim League won this assembly seat by a margin of 7,789 votes. V. K. Ebrahim Kunju, the winning Muslim League candidate, got 62,843 votes. With 55,054 votes, CPI(M) candidate K. Chandran Pillai was the runner-up. The voter turnout was 79.77%.
