About Jamua Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Having a population of 271,563 in 2011, Jamua falls under Giridih district. The assembly constituency of Jamua which belongs to Koderma parliamentary constituency is represented by JVM. The seat was earlier occupied by BJP. Chandrika Mahtha won the 2009 assembly elections by defeating Satya Narayan Das of CPI(ML)(L). Mahtha bagged 42824 votes as against Das' 24297 votes. The constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Castes.
