About Jamshedpur East Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

An area in the East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, Jamshedpur East is a major industrial centre. The assembly constituency of Jamshedpur East falls under Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency. The seat has been occupied by BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) since 2005. Raghubar Das won the 2009 assembly elections for the second consecutive time. He defeated Abhay Singh of JVM (Jharkhand Vikas Morcha). Das bagged 56165 votes as against Singh's 33202 votes. The city is also known as the Steel City.
