About Vijaypur Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Vijaypur is a town in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. As of 2011 India census, the city had a population of 21044. The assembly constituency of Vijaypur is a part of Jammu parliamentary constituency. Surjit Singh of JKNC won the 2008 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Chander Parkash of BJP. Singh secured 21090 votes as against Parkash's 17311 votes.
