About Devsar Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Devsar is a city in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly constituency of Devsar falls under Anantnag parliamentary constituency. The seat has been occupied by PDP since 2002. Mohmad Sartaj Madni of PDP won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time and is the present MLA. He defeated Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah of JKNC. Madni received 14175 votes as against Shah's 10174 votes.
