About Badgam Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Badgam is a town in the district by the same name in Jammu & Kashmir. As of 2001 India census, it had a population of 15,932. The assembly constituency of Badgam is a part of Srinagar parliamentary constituency. The constituency is the JKNC bastion. Aga Syed Ruhullah of JKNC won the 2008 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Mohammad Kamal Malik of PDP with a very huge margin. Ruhullah secured 19652 votes as against Malik's 9692 votes.
