About Ballabgarh Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Ballabgarh is a town in Faridabad district of Haryana. The name Ballabgarh derived from Balramgarh, 'the fort of Balram'. As of 2011 India census, Ballabgarh had a population of 2,13,739. The assembly constituency of Ballabgarh belongs to Faridabad parliamentary constituency. The seat has been occupied by INC since 2005. Sharda Rathore of INC won the 2009 assembly elections for the second consecutive time and is the present MLA. She defeated Surender Tewatia of BJP with a huge margin. Rathore got 35535 votes as against Tewatia's 11691 votes.
