There are 26 parliamentary constituencies in Gujarat, among which two are reserved for SCs (Kutch and Ahmedabad West) and
four for STs (Dahod, Chhota Udaipur, Bardoli, and Valsad).

The state, located in the Western parts of the country, has a population of about six crores. The literacy rate is 78.03%. The gender ratio in the state of Gujarat is much better than most of the states in India, being 919 females for every 1,000 males.

The state has a total of 3,98,71,571 voters, of which 9,48,242 (3.98% of total population) are between 18 and 19 years of age. There are  45,313 polling stations in total.
