About Cumbarjua Assembly Constituency

Cumbarjua is constituency No. 15 of Goa legislative assembly. It is situated in North Goa district and comes under the North Goa Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open assembly constituency. The state of Goa has 40 assembly constituencies.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Cumbarjua has 23,757 registered voters. It comprises 11,650 male and 12,107 female registered voters.

In the last Goa assembly elections held in 2012, the Congress won this constituency by a safe margin of 1,575 votes. Pandurang A. Madkaikar, the winning candidate from Congress, got 9,556 votes. Independent candidate Nirmala P. Sawant was the nearest contender with 7,981 votes. The voter turnout was 83.54 %.
