About Teghra Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Teghra is located in Begusarai district and is a part of the Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of Bihar.  Teghra is a legislative assembly of the state. The Teghra assembly constituency is populated by 2,51,837 eligible voters. There are 1,35,059 male and 1,16,762 female voters in the constituency. The implementation of the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008 implied that the Teghra segment would comprise Teghra community development block and Hajipur, Bihat I to IV, Peepra Dewas, Malhipur (South), Malhipur (North), Amarpur, Papraur, Rajwara, Garahara I & II and Simaria I & II gram panchayats of Barauni community development block.

The Teghra assembly segment is represented in the state legislative assembly by BJP's Lalan Ku, who won in the assembly elections held in November 2010. Lala Ku accounted for 38,694 votes, while his closest competitor Ram Ratan Singh of CPI managed only 32,848 votes. The Teghra legislative assembly was re-constituted in 2008 as per the orders of the Delimitation Commission of India.
