About Hasanpur Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Hasanpur is located in Samastipur district and is a part of the Khagaria Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency. Hasanpur is a legislative assembly segment in the state of Bihar. Raj Kumar Ray of JD (U) represents Hasanpur in the state legislative assembly of Bihar. Ray won the Hasanpur seat by garnering 36,767 votes in the 2010 assembly elections. He defeated RJD's Sunil Kumar Pushpam by a margin of 3,291 votes.

Hasanpur is populated by a total of 2,40,948 eligible voters, out of which 1,27,994 are men and 1,12,950 are women. As recommended by the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008, Hasanpur assembly segment consists of Bithan community development block, Hasanpur community development block and Bishnupur Diha, Kundal I, Kundal II, Jahangirpur and Shalepur gram panchayats of Singhia community development block.
