About Chapra Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Chapra is a legislative assembly constituency of Bihar. It is located in the Saran district and is a part of the Saran Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency. BJP�s Dr. C.N. Gupta is the sitting MLA of the Chapra assembly constituency, who won the seat in the 2015 assembly election with 71,646 votes. He defeated Randhir Kumar Singh of RJD, who settled for just 60,267 votes. They had a margin of 11,379 votes between them.

Randhir Kumar Singh had won the 2014 by-poll from Chapra. However, he couldn�t win re-election in 2015. The Chapra assembly segment has a large electorate of around 3,05,079 eligible voters, amongst whom 1,66,739 are men and 1,38,336 are women.
