About Buxar Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Buxar is a legislative assembly segment, a Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency and a district in the state of Bihar. The Buxar assembly constituency is home to 2,56,659 people who are enlisted by the Election Commission of India as eligible voters as per the universal adult suffrage. There are 1,36,572 male and 1,20,084 female voters in the constituency. As per the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India given in 2008, the Buxar assembly segment comprises Chausa and Buxar community development blocks.

Professor Sukhada Pande of BJP was elected the MLA for the Buxar assembly constituency in 2010, when he won the elections for the seat with 48,062 votes. RJD's Shyam Lal Singh Kushwaha had to content with the runner-up status having managed only 27,879 votes.
