About Bankipur Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Bankipur is a legislative assembly constituency located in the Patna district of Bihar. It is a part of the Patna Sahib Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency. A total of 3,15,690 people in the Bankipur assembly segment hold the right to vote as per the universal adult suffrage. Amongst all the voters in the constituency, there are 1,70,135 males and 1,45,536 females. The Bankipur assembly constituency was created in 2008 and covers Ward Nos. 4 to 13 and 15 of Patna Rural community development block in the Patna Municipal Corporation as per the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India.

BJP's Nitin Nabin was elected as the MLA of the Bankipur constituency in the assembly elections held in November 2010. He got 78,771 votes and defeated Binod Kumar Srivastava of RJD, who settled for just 17,931 votes.
