Dr. Ranju Geeta of JDU is the current MLA of Bajpatti Vidhan Sabha constituency. He won the seat in 2015 by defeating BLSP�s Rekha Kumari who got the second-highest votes. Dr. Ranju Geeta and Rekha Kumari got 67,194 and 50,248 votes respectively. The polling percentage for the previous Bihar election was 54.64 %.

Dr. Ranju Geeta was elected in the Bajpatti constituency for the second time in 2015, she got the first win in the year 2010. Hence, JDU has won the Bajpatti seat for 2 consecutive times. Bajpatti is located in the Sitamarhi district of Bihar and is a part of the Lok Sabha constituency that goes by the same name as Sitamarhi. As per the data of the 2015 Bihar election, the constituency has 2,84,002 eligible voters.
