About Amnour Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Amnour is a legislative assembly constituency of Bihar. It is in the Saran district of Bihar and a part of the Saran Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of the state. Amnour came into existence as a legislative assembly segment after the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India were implemented in 2008. Krishana Kumar of JD (U) was the first ever elected MLA from Amnour. He beat the independent candidate Sunil Kumar in the assembly elections of 2010. Krishana Kumar got 29,508 votes, while Sunil Kumar settled with 18,991 votes.

A total of 2,63,619 people in Amnour have the right to exercise their franchise. There are 1,40,462 male and 1,23,153 female voters in the constituency. Amnour comprises Saguni, Sobhepur, Chandpura, Pachrukhi, Pachalakh and Bheldi gram panachayats of Parsa community development block and Maker and Amnour community development block.
