Here are the highlights for Day 39 of Modi government

  • PM Narendra Modi reached Jammu and Kashmir today. Modi flagged off the Katra-Udhampur train. This was regarded as a great moment for India.
  • During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir Modi addressed a public rally. He said that the dream of Atal Bihari Vajpayee of regenerating peace in the state will surely come true.
  • The Prime Minister also headed the security review meeting in Kashmir Valley. He will also be inaugurating the hydro-power project.
  • Continuing with his interest in social media, Modi today asked help from Sheryl Sandberg, the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook. This will help in getting more likes for the country. According to the reports, Sandberg has agreed to help Modi and said the Facebook will help the newly-formed government in all its undertakings.
  • Narendra Modi's project of developing the country's infrastructure seems to have gained popularity. Singapore has expressed its interest in the construction of smart cities in India that are on the priority list.
  • Prakash Karat, general secretary of CPI(M) today lashed out at the Modi government. He said that the government has remained unsuccessful in controlling inflation and in fact some of the decisions of the government have only oppressed the general public.
  • According to the sources, the new office of Narendra Modi will start its operations from the month of August.
  • Cabinet Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari said that the BJP was not sure that they would win the general elections with such a huge margin.
